Mommy and Me Exercises That Any Mom Can Achieve

I always try to fit a workout in at home during the day while I am home with my daughter and my son is at preschool. When she was younger, it was a little easier. She’d take her nap and I’d get my workout done then. Now that she’s older and all over the place, it can make it a little more challenging. For some reason, my daughter decides she wants to love all over me as soon I start my workout. She crawls on me, tries to give me kisses and hugs me. I can’t ever pass that down. So, I decided to incorporate her into my workout routines. My little petite sixteen-pound toddler is the perfect size for some added weight! Plus, it gives me that extra burn and I don’t have to miss out on any love she’s trying to give mama.

All of these exercises are super simple, any mama can accomplish them! Whether you do one set of ten or three sets, anything is better then nothing and you don’t have to worry about taking any time away from loving on your little ones!

Here’s some ways to try and incorporate them!

Legs and Glutes

1

Put them on your shoulders or hold them in your arms while you squat

Walk and do lunges while the little one is in your arms

Sit them on your lap while you do a one-minute wall sit

Sit them on you while you do glute bridges

Hold the baby and do side leg lifts

Lay on your back, lift your legs, and lay your baby on your calves to do leg raises

Arms

2

Lie on your back and lift them in the air for a good shoulder press

Hold them under their armpits and do some bicep curls while standing

Lay them under you and give them a kiss every time you do a push up

Have them sit on your back while you do pushups for added weight

Do tricep dips while they sit on you

Abs

3

Do some sitting Russian twists while holding them in your arms

Have them sit on your lower stomach during crunches

Sit them under you while you do a 30-60 second plank

Lay them on your stomach while doing leg lifts

Lay them on your legs while doing reverse crunches

Most importantlywalk walk walk!

It has so many health benefits that just walking alone can help you lose weight!

Walking for 30 minutes can burn up to 200 calories, re-energize you, improve your mood, reduce the risk of stroke, and even extend your life!

So, pop that little one in the stroller and enjoy the outdoors.

These are a perfect opportunity for a bonding moment with your babies!

Must I also mention, there’s an app called Sweatcoin that pays you to walk outside! If that doesn’t help motivate you, I don’t know what will! I’ve been using this app for about a month now, and it’s awesome! Of course, the weather hasn’t been to nice since it’s cold here on Pennsylvania so I can’t wait to put it fully to the test come spring and summer.

Check it out here.

Healthy Snack Alternatives: My Personal Favorites

One of my biggest guilty pleasures is snacking. I couldn’t possibly get through the day with just eating three meals. When I first started my weight loss journey, my hardest challenge was letting go of the snacks. It took me a little while to get into the groove of completely changing my eating habits. I attempted to completely cut out snacks and just eat strictly three meals a day, but nope. I couldn’t do it. After researching meal plans, I decided to incorporate two to three snacks into my daily eating routine. Of course, those snacks couldn’t be chips and cookies, I wish though, so I found my own personal favorites that I wanted to share. With these extra snacks in my day, I still lost close to 50 pounds.

Biggest part of snacking is the serving size. I make sure to measure out each snack and eat the correct serving size amount. It can be as simple as buying pre-packaged 100 calorie snacks or measuring them yourself using a food scale. Either way works, you just never want to overeat a snack, because that defeats the purpose.

Quest Bars. My number one favorite. These bars fill me up long enough between meals that I’m completely satisfied. They come in so many flavors you’ll never get bored of eating them. They are packed with protein and other healthy nutrition. They also have protein cookies and chips, check them out here!

Raw Almonds. The nutrients in almonds are so great for you! Healthy fats, Vitamin E, Calcium, Magnesium… the list goes on! Not only do they have great nutrients, they help manage weight, lower cholesterol, improve digestive health, and lowers the risk of heart disease. I usually buy the Blue Diamond 100 Packs for a perfect on the go snack.

Frozen Yogurt Blueberries. These are great when I am craving some ice cream. I get some vanilla greek yogurt, dip the blueberries in it, freeze them and that’s it. Another easy on the go snack, and totally kid approved! My son will eat these up.

Peanut Butter Protein Bites. These are my go to when I want something sweet. They have just enough chocolate to curb my cravings and get my sweet tooth under control. This is another protein packed snack that keeps me full throughout the day. Check out my no bake, five ingredient recipe here!

img_7521-e1519599330637.jpg

Rice Cakes with Peanut Butter. Another sweet snack for me (can you tell I like sweets?). I buy the Quaker Apple Cinnamon Rice Cakes, spread the serving size amount of creamy peanut butter on top and enjoy. Quick, easy, and delicious!

Try them out and let me know what you think! What are your favorite healthy snacks? I’d love to hear!

Homemade Peanut Butter Protein Bites

These delicious little bites are one of my favorites quick recipes to make. These no bake snacks take only minutes to make and are super delicious. They are the perfect snack for a healthy lifestyle and are packed with protein and fiber to keep you feeling fuller during the day. They are an easy on the go snack if you live a busy lifestyle like mine. Best thing about them is that they help curb my sweet tooth when I’m craving something with chocolate. Each bite tastes more like a dessert than healthy protein and fiber rich snack.

My kids approve of them also, which is a total mom win.

img_7523

5 Simple Ingredients:
2 tbsp. Honey
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup old fashioned oats
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup ground flax seeds

All you do is simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and place in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes until chilled.
Once chilled, roll into mini balls and enjoy!
(I made mine about 1 inch in diameter)

If you don’t eat them within a week, you can also freeze them and eat them at a later time.

These balls are also super versatile and you can mix them up however you’d like. You can add in some coconut or shredded almonds. Maybe trade out the semi-sweet chocolate chips for dark chocolate chips. Whichever you prefer.

Hope you enjoy!

Weight Loss Journey: Round 2

Hey Everyone!

img_7046

In one of my first blog posts ever (check it out!), I talked about my weight loss journey and how I overcame major back surgery and lost close to 50 pounds. That was a major accomplishment for me and I pride myself every day for how far I have come since giving birth to my son in 2013.

With my second pregnancy I didn’t gain half as much and I bounced back so quickly throughout my little girls first year of life. Of course, having a toddler in the mix helped tremendously, but I was so dedicated on what I ate and how often I worked out.

But I’ve slacked off lately, bad. With all the stress of raising two kids, holidays, and planning parties I’ve gotten majorly off track. I’ve started to pile up the excuses, but not anymore.

So! Here I am again, ready to start back up this fit mom mission again. I’ve gained back close to 20 pounds since before I met my husband, and I hate it. I can feel it in my everyday activities, and sadly, the back pain has recently started back up. Luckily, it’s not even half as bad as before, but I’m not risking the chance of going through another surgery. My babies need their mama and I can’t be out of commission for a few months healing from another major surgery. So, after a hospital visit, MRI, and visiting a few specialists, I’m going to a physician on Friday to receive some back injections to help alleviate the pain and get me back on the right track.

I’m going to share a lot of my progress on my blog, including my daily workout routines, healthy meals, and what I do to keep my head on straight while trying to still raise two little ones and keep a happy home. I enjoy sharing my progress and attempting to motivate others along the way. I also have a fitness profile on Instagram, where I enjoy posting a lot of my journey (follow me of course!)

img_2247

My big motivation isn’t the scale, it’s the progress photos. Be ready to see a lot of those. I’ve come to learn that the scale is junk. Yes, seeing the numbers go down is one fantastic feeling, but feeling great in your clothes (and selfies) is even better and mama loves her selfies. As much as I enjoy cardio also, I’m going to incorporate a lot of weights into the mix. I want to feel toned and strong, not just lean and thin.

We all want to be the best mother to our kids, and this is one way I feel the most confident as a mother. My surgery happened at a really young age, which is very uncommon. I constantly have the fear that I am going to be unable to keep up with my children due to this injury, so staying in shape is a big priority for me. I’m doing this for my kids so I can run around with them at the playground and be involved in all their sporting activities. I like to show that even with the setback that I had, anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

I’m excited for round two of this journey and to be the best mama I can possibly be.

I hope you stick around for it!

Skinny Bang Bang Shrimp Mix

Happy Thursday!

This is one of my most favorite quick, healthy meals to put together and it only takes minutes! I’ve made this numerous times, and it’s just a skinnier version of the Bonefish Grill version. It’s a pretty popular recipe, but I just want to share for everyone! The serving size is about 4oz of shrimp. I usually just measure mine out with a food scale.

d58e9caf-cb2e-4190-a3d5-3abb15015f83

Ingredients:

  • 2lbs raw peeled and divined shrimp
  • 4 Tablespoon Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Mayonaise
  • 3 Tablespoons Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1-1 1/2 Tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper (Optional)
  • 2 Tablespoon Chopped Green Onion (To Garnish Also)

All you have to do is mix up all the ingredients in a bowl, cook your shrimp and add to the sauce! If you just want to make one pound of shrimp, cut the recipe in half! I usually mix mine up with some organic brown rice, or you could even serve it over pasta.

I hope you enjoy!

Tips To Prevent Nightly Binge Eating

Happy Sunday Ya’ll!

With a new week ahead of us, it’s time for a fresh start! I wanted to share some of my own personal tips when it comes to binge eating at night. I don’t know about you all, but during the evening is the hardest for me when it comes to wanting to munch. I do great throughout the day, but once my husband comes home from work and my kids eat dinner, they can eat whatever they want and not gain a pound. I’m not so lucky. I watch my husband eat and gain the pounds. So, I started to incorporate some ways to refrain from binge eating at night. In the end, it all boils down to self-control. You need to tell your mind you don’t need those chips or those delicious chocolate chip cookies. Everyone has their own ways to refrain from overeating, but here are a few of mine that seem to work out great!

img_4519

  1. Drink Water. This is a pretty common tip. Drinking tons of water tricks your mind into thinking you are full. So, when your body tells you they want a snack, chug a glass of water. You should feel fuller and that craving will hopefully subside. Water is the best thing you could possibly drink when trying to lose weight.

  1. Brush Your Teeth. For me, after I brush my teeth I don’t want to eat anything. For some reason, when my teeth are clean and that minty taste is stuck in my mouth, I don’t want to get rid of it. It also curbs my hunger immensely. Plus, you can never brush your teeth too many times. It’s a win win.

  1. Eat When Your Kids Eat. I am the Queen of picking off my kid’s plate when they are eating dinner. If they don’t want their chicken nuggets, I’ll grab it. Don’t even get my started on stealing french fries. I’ve learned to have my meal prepared at the same time as theirs so I can concentrate more on eating my food then theirs. Then when they are finished, I take it right to the trash can and dump it out. No more picking for this Mama.

  1. Walk Away From The Kitchen. If you’re not eating, don’t sit in the kitchen. It’ll give you the urge to rummage through the cabinets. If my husband or kids decide to eat before I’m hungry, I make their plates and either walk in the living room, or clean the house a little (vacuum, dust, work in laundry, etc.). I try not to think about food until I’m ready for my meal.

  1. Whiten Your Teeth. Yes, this is a totally crazy tip, but one of my favorites! I’ve recently gotten into whitening my teeth. I’ll put the strips on for an hour a day, and of course you can’t eat while you have them in. With all that said, the perfect time for whitening is in the evening. I’ll put those on, and it’ll keep me from eating for a good hour. Plus, your teeth get whiter! Another win!

  1. Exercise. When you get the urge to eat, just start working out. Do a few squats, hop in the treadmill for a little. Exercising seems to control your hunger. Just sweat that craving right out of you, and you’ll feel better then you did before. Also, if I work out right before dinner, I tend to feel fuller with my meal.

  1. Have Snacks During The Day. When I say have snacks, I don’t mean grab a handful of chips or eat some chocolate. In between meals during the day, have a small snack. Eat some almonds or a protein bar. I like to eat three meals a day and two snacks in between those meals. This really helps me from picking at night.

8. Keep Motivation All Around Your House. Post some pictures on your refrigerator of some fitness quotes, or the body you are working towards. I have my letter board in my living room to remind me every day that ‘I Got This’ and I can do whatever I put my mind too. I take one glance as those motivational posts, and hop right back on track.

Give some of these tips a try and let me know what you think! As I said before, these are tips that personally help me. Don’t get discouraged if they aren’t effective for you. Do some trial and error, research and find what’s best for your body and mind. But always remember to try and have self-control.

FabFitFun Winter Box Review

Okay Ya’ll! So here is it. My review of each product for my Winter FabFitFun Box! I’ve tried each one of these products over the past week, and every season I fall more and more in love with this subscription. Here we go!

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. All you needed with this exfoliating mask was a small dime size amount, so the bottle will last a while. It was green and gooey, but exfoliated well! It tingled when it first went on, so I was a little skeptical and anxious that my sensitive skin would get really red, but once I rinsed it off my face felt cleaner than ever! It felt a tiny bit dry, but I added some moisturizer and I was good to go! I’ve already used it twice and my black heads seem to be diminishing! Happy mom!

 img_3013-1

AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream. I’ve been using the lotion after I wash the dishes because my skin tends to get really dry afterwards. First thought was it smelt good! Nothing too overbearing, and it wasn’t very thick and tacky like some lotions can be. It also made my skin super smooth. I will definitely continue using!

 img_3004

Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle & Energizing Eye Masks. I’m in love! By far my favorite product in the box. My eyes felt completely refreshed after the masks came off. My puffiness was reduced also! Plus, they felt nice and cool on my eyes. I would use them every single day if I could. Even if you don’t get the FabFitFun box, I would 100% recommend these to another exhausted mama out there!

 snapseed-29

Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks. These socks might be the most comfortable socks I’ve worn. They are unbelievably soft on your feet. I wore them to bed when I first tried them on and my feet stayed cozy and warm all night. They didn’t get too cold or too hot. These will be my winter socks for sure. I might even see how they work in the snow when I go out with the kids. I’m not a big sock person at all, but these have been on my feet just about every day!

 snapseed-27

DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette in Nude and 8 OTHER REASONS Nine Lives Choker in Silver. So, I used these two products at the same time. My son’s birthday was this past weekend, so I got myself dolled up. The makeup was great, the colors were neutral so It went well with my black top. It wasn’t too crazy on my eyes. It was very subtle and could most likely go with any shirt. It also lasted all day which made me pleased. As for the necklace, I loved it! It rested flawlessly on my chest and the choker was an awesome addition with the shirt I had on. I love how simple it is, so you can where it with a patterned or solid shirt.

 snapseed-28

FFFTV Fitness Ball w/ Jillian Michaels Videos. What I love about this ball is that it isn’t super huge like a lot of the other fitness balls. The product came with the equipment to blow it up which I really enjoyed. I didn’t have to search for something to blow it up with. I’ve been using it during my ab routines, passing it back and forth between my arms and legs. Plus, the kids enjoy playing with it too! So, it’s mom and kid approved. I’ll take it!

 snapseed-26

The BB Dakota Poncho. This poncho was super cute! It looked good paired up with some leggings for a comfortable look, and I’m sure it would look just a good with some jeans and ankle boots (which I will be trying). It was soft and cozy. It’s something I would wear again. It is more of a piece that I would wear in the fall though, so I wouldn’t have to put a coat overtop.

 snapseed-30

Last the Homemade by Ayesha Curry Ceramic Mug, which I have used every day since it came. I just adore it! It’s suits my personality perfectly, so it’s totally a win for me. The colors are bright and exciting, and the mug isn’t too big or hold to hold. It fits perfectly in my hand. I love it!

With all that being said, I still believe the FabFitFun box is by far my favorite mail subscription. Over $300 worth of products, that I pay only a fraction of that price for! Plus, when you first join you take a survey to customize the box to your needs so you love it every season! Here’s my referral link again if you’d like to subscribe! http://xo.fff.me/hfrrL

Fabfitfun 2017 Winter Box Unboxing

Yes, two posts in one day, but I received my Fabfitfun box and I had to share what’s inside!

fullsizerender

I have tried a ton of mail subscriptions, and Fabfitfun is undoubtedly my favorite. This is the first box where I have been able to use everything inside. It is very versatile, and the box includes a variety of products that doesn’t just cover on or two segments. The box designs are always so beautiful and always go along with the season of the box. My whole box is totaled at $373 this month and I only pay $40 each season! You really can’t beat it. If you want to subscribe after reading this post, here’s my link for $10 OFF! (http://xo.fff.me/hfrrL ) It’s well worth the money and I honestly mean that.

This season’s box really “fit” me impeccably. This month’s box included

  • BB Dakota Poncho (I received the Mulberry)
  • AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream
  • DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette (I received the Nude)
  • Homemade by Ayesha Curry Ceramic Mug
  • Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
  • Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks
  • Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle & Energizing Eye Masks
  • 8 OTHER REASONS Nine Lives Choker in Silver
  • FFFTV Fitness Ball w/ Jillian Michaels Videos

The first product I grabbed out was the BB Dakota Poncho, valued at $70. It was so cozy and large that I might even use it as a small blanket too on an extra chilly night. Since I received the Mulberry, the colors involved are a maroon, navy blue, and a charcoal(ish) color. It’s a fall article of clothing in my opinon. I’d most likely pair it with a plain long sleeve shirt, jeans, a skinny belt, and a pair of ankle boots.

fullsizerender-1

Second was the AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream. This was a $33 value. It is said to be enriched with Dead Sea minerals, witch hazel, and allantoin. This was a clever product to put in the winter box considering your hands tend to get dry during this season. You can apply it several times day, especially after washing. I’m super excited to try it out.

fullsizerender-3

Third was the DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette. Valued at $70. I received the Nude palette and the colors are very soft and seem like the can go well with any outfit. Nude is suitable for everyone, nothing too dramatic just very simple to give your eyes that simple pop. It comes with matte and shimmer shadows, along with one highlighter. It’s said to have a “smudge-free” finish, so we shall see!

fullsizerender-2

Next is one of my favorites in the box. The Homemade by Ayesha Curry Ceramic Mug. Valued at $16. They must of know I was an exhausted mom of two who drinks entirely too much coffee. The mug fits me perfectly also since it says “I’d rather be in bed”. The design is adorable! It feels like a very durable mug also. I’ll be using this in the morning. To top it all off, the box gives you a recipe for Hot Cocoa and for us moms, Harvest Sangria!

snapseed-5

Then we have the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. Valued at $75. Any kind of skin care, I am on board with trying. It has papaya, pumpkin, and pineapple enzymes which is told to improve the appearance of skin texture and pores, while brightening and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Challenge accepted.

snapseed-3

Now my second favorite, Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle & Energizing Eye Masks. Valued at $16. These puffy mom eyes are ready to give these a try! The collagen and minerals are designed to revitalize and rejuvenate your under eyes and bring back elasticity and youthfulness. Yes.. Please!

snapseed-2

I’m very curious about the next product, the Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks. Valued at $19. They are supposed to be soothing for your feet after a workout, and can last up 25-30 washes. I like to run, so I’m excited to try.

snapseed-1

Next is the layered choker, The 8 OTHER REASONS Nine Lives Choker. Valued at $58. I received the silver. It also comes in rose gold. It’s very simple, and it looks like I can pair it with multiple outfits. I’m also going to try it with other necklaces since it has the layered look.

snapseed-6

Finally, the FFFTV Fitness Ball with Jillian Michaels Videos. Valued at $16. This is a product out of three that I got to choose before the box was sent out. You’re able to choose certain products every month, but you only have a certain time period for it, so make sure to check the emails! Of course I chose the fitness ball because I love to work out, and it’s a perfect addition to my collection of workout equipment at home.

snapseed-4

You can also choose “add ons” for your box. They do cost extra but at a super cheap rate. This was my first time using the add on option and I ordered a food scale, for only $9.99! And its super sturdy and glass. I’m really excited to try it.

snapseed-7

This subscription is 100% recommended by me! I’m excited to try these products & be on the look out for a review post in a few weeks!

The Start Of My Weight Loss Journey.

One topic that I’m going to share a lot about is my weight loss journey. I am nowhere near finished from where I started and I definitely have my moments where I slack off (trust me, I’m eating a cookie as I write this, but it’s balance, right?). So, I wanted to let know you all know how it all began, and I hope you’ll continue to follow along.
I was never the skinny girl growing up. I had some meat on my bones, and I still do to this day. I don’t think these thighs are going anywhere. More toned? Yes. They will never be teeny though. It’s so funny how in high school you would always think you were huge. Now, looking back, you’d kill to have that body again. So why not just go for it?
About a year before I got pregnant I really let go of myself. I ate out constantly and drank alcohol quite often. I had no responsibilities, that’s what everyone my age was doing. I knew I was overweight but I never made an effort to change anything about it. I just figured wearing dark clothes and dolling my self up would hide it well enough. Then I got pregnant, and that made the weight gain even worse.
I used my first pregnancy as an excuse to eat as much as I wanted, whenever I wanted. Fast food multiple times a day, sweets and chips every few hours. I just figured it was good to feed the baby. Then at about 7-8 months into my pregnancy, I started getting excruciating back pain, to where my legs would give out on me and go numb. I could barely walk at times, and all I would do was lay there. I just figured once I had my son, the pain would go away and boy was I wrong. After giving birth, I still couldn’t walk sometimes, my legs would still go numb, the pain would radiate all the way to my toes, I’d almost drop my baby at times while laying him into his crib. Finally, I decided to seek some help from a pain management specialist to see what was going on. So of course the first course of action was to get a x-ray. The doctor called me a day or so later, and pretty much told me I needed surgery, major back surgery… at 22?! There was no way I was going through that. I had a 4 month old that I needed to take care of. I couldn’t be out of commission for 3 months to heal while I had an infant. So I tried anything possible. I went through physical therapy, back injections, I was even offered narcotics to numb the pain but I refused. I never really considered my weight to be part of the issue, so I continued my unhealthy eating and lack of exercise. I guess it was somewhat of a comforting thing since I was in so much pain.
In August 2014, about a week into starting my new job (before my sahm days now) and dealing with this pain for months (I was also probably my heaviest I’ve ever been), I went to use the bathroom and noticed I was loosing control of my bladder (gross, I know) and my legs went completely numb every time I sat down. I knew that wasn’t normal, so off to the hospital I went. They immediately admitted me and told me I needed an MRI immediately (which didn’t happen). Nervously waiting all night long, they decided that they were going to transfer me to another hospital since they wouldn’t have the proper doctors on sight, and I could get an MRI a lot sooner.
Let me tell you that was the most painful ambulance ride I’ve ever been on. If anyone knows the streets in Baltimore City, they aren’t the smoothest, and laying flat on my back on a stretcher didn’t help. Once I received my MRI, the surgeon came up to my room an hour or so later informing me that my back was as bad as an elderly person and that I needed surgery almost immediately or I’m going to lose complete control of my bowels, permanently. I couldn’t believe was I was hearing. Once again, I now had an 8 month old that I needed to care for, what was I suppose to do!? They told me I wouldn’t be able to bend, lift, or twist for 3 months. No holding my son, no helping him learn to walk, nothing. I was devastated, but I had to do it. The end result would be so much more worth it. I’d be able to play with my son with no pain.
Two days later, on a Saturday morning, bright and early I went back for my surgery. I had to have a laminectomy and discectomy of my L4-L5, L5-S1 vertebrae. It was a success (obviously, I’m still here!), and after five days later, I was able to come home and start my recovery. I will never forget the few words my doctor said to me right before I left. “If you get in shape and keep unnecessary weight off, you shouldn’t have to get a spinal fusion before your 30.” Two major back surgeries before 30!? Yeah, I’ll pass.
And that’s what started it all…
Once I was fully recovered, my first big outing was a wedding (pictured above). I found a cute dress, some boots, dolled my self up in makeup and was ready to go and I had the best time. Until, I looked back at the photos the next morning. I was huge, I looked disgusting, and for once I hated the way I looked. Those words my provider told me ran though my mind, and I was ready for a change.
I started by running in place while my son took a bath, or when he was playing in his pack and play. I had NO idea where to start with exercising, but as long as I was sweating, I felt some source of success. Then I started added weight training, then actual running, and man did I feel good. I cut out my fatty foods, chose lighter options, and really learned to cook at home for myself. I was making meals every night. Different flavors of chicken, healthy cauliflower sides instead of potatoes. I was so proud of myself. Pinterest was my life saver. I researched everything on there.
When I posted my first “Transformation Tuesday” post, everyone asked me what diet I was doing or what products I was taking. All I did for about 9 months straight was exercise until I couldn’t anymore and eat clean. That was is. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s something everyone could do if they put their mind to it. There was no secrets.
I was almost 50 lbs down, and still am to this day and I feel on top of the world. My back is stronger then ever. I went through a second pregnancy with no issues. I didn’t use my baby as an excuse to eat, or to be lazy. I still chased around my toddler as much as I did before becoming pregnant with my princess.
I’m still a long way from where I want to be, and I’m going to continue to post my weight loss journey on here, that’s why I thought it was necessary to tell you all why I started. Anything is possible if you put your mind too it, and I hope you all continues to follow this journey with me and motivate me along the way.
Please like and share my stories! I would love to hear your comments.
